Emery took care of business on Friday night inside the Spartan Center against Juab. It was tied at nine before Jordan Ekker and Seth Justice each added a three-pointer to end the first quarter, 15-11 Spartans. Emery separated itself in the second, with a 20-8 period to go into halftime up 35-19.
The Spartans led by as much as 24 in the third quarter and maintained that margin with a 74-50 victory. Brax Jensen recorded another double-double with 22 points, 11 assists and five steals. Also with five steals was Jordan Ekker, who shot the ball well with four three-pointers for 20 points. Kyler Wilstead was a beast down-low with 12 points, nine rebounds and three blocks. The final Spartan to reach double figures was Justin Rasmussen with 10 points.
Emery forced 24 Wasp turnovers and held Juab to 37% shooting. Emery converted on 48% of its shots in the winning effort.
The Spartans (5-1) will visit Grantsville (2-4) on Tuesday and then host South Summit (2-6) on Friday. The latter game will be brought to you live on ETV Channel 10 and etvnews.com/livesports.
