It is official: Emery’s new football field is operational. Crews worked tirelessly to get everything ready for the first game ever on the new turf and it was worth the wait. The Spartans came out full of energy and jumped in front of the Bulldogs. Emery cashed in on early turnovers by finding the end zone, leading to 28 points in the first quarter.

Treg Miller and Colton Jeffs each recorded an interception while Oakley Alton caused a fumble that Koalton Curtis recovered. The Spartans were up 35-0 before Judge Memorial got on the board. Emery took a 42-7 lead into the half and never looked back. Many players saw the field in the thumping as Emery coasted in the second half to a 56-7 victory.

Ryker Jensen was named the Tram Electric Player of the Game, going 18-21 with 194 yards, four touchdowns and one interception. Good enough for a passer rating of 124.9, Miller was the most popular target with six receptions, 109 yards and a score.

Chewy Sharp, Luke Justice and Sean Rodgers each had a receiving touchdown as well, while Dane Sitterud, Boston Huntington and Maddex Christman ran one in for a score. The latter also led the Spartans in tackles with eight and Tyler Stilson was close behind with seven.

Emery (3-4, 1-1) will now turn its attention toward homecoming when Providence Hall (4-3, 2-0) will come to town. Catch all the action live on ETV Channel 10 and online at etvnews.com/livesports.
