Emery travelled to Beaver on Tuesday amidst extreme winter weather conditions.

The sophomores were challenged for the first time but ultimately squeaked by with a win against the Beavers 43-39. They started out slow, down 18-11 in the second quarter but switched up to a small lineup that brought them back to lead 24-21 at the half. None of the Spartans had standouts performances in their lowest scoring game of the season, except Tai Justice who continued hitting three point shots and got to the charity stripe. Justice registered all of his 14 points from behind the arc or at the free thow line. Tyson Roper also had a well-rounded game scoring eight and rebounding eight while hitting a three pointer in the process.

Junior varsity played the best, beating the Beavers 66-54. However the Spartans struggled with turnovers, giving up 31 possessions. The Spartans dominated the glass however out rebounding Beaver 43 to 16. Drexler Tanner had a superb performance dropping 19 points and 17 rebounds. Tanner also shot 6/6 from the field and 2/2 from the line at halftime and continued to shoot well the remainder of the game. Dillon Wilstead also had a decent game scoring 16 and dishing out five assists, but did contribute to six of the 31 turnovers. Otis Addison had 13 points and eight rebounds while hitting two three pointers.

During the varsity game Beaver was red hot, and came out of the gate drilling threes, hitting six in the first half alone. Beaver dominated in their territory with a 55-47 win. The Spartans were only able to eight points on the board during the В first half but came out attacking in the third scoring 23 points. Most of the change in the second half started with Bay Faimalo who scored 22 points. Faimalo came out in the third and fourth quarters with intensity and drove the ball to the bucket. Faimalo was instrumental in a comeback the Spartans almost pulled off, coming within five points twice until a controverisal charging call on Faimalo changed the tone and pace of the game. Beaver quickly jumped back to an eight to ten point game eventually winning by eight. Brendon Jorgenson also had a pretty good game scoring 15 and seemed to get his stroke back knocking down four of seven threes.

With their third loss in a row the Spartans are suffering major questions and will look to improve greatly by the season end starting with their home game against Union on Friday, December 21st.
