Emery traveled to take place in the 21-team Gunnison Wrestling Tournament on Friday and Saturday.
Byron Christiansen (106), Korby Christiansen (120), Bryar Meccariello (145) and McKay Meccariello (152) all took first in their weight classes in the tournament as they went 9-0. Dwain Farley placed second, going 8-1 behind Korby, in the 120 weight class. Jarin Allen (113), Jess Christiansen (106), Drake Mangum (126), Hayes Dalton (170) and Kove Johansen were third place finishers.
The Spartans are set up for a busy week. First, they host a duel against Gunnison on Tuesday and then they will travel to duel North Sanpete on Wednesday. Emery will wrap up the week at the multi-state Intermountain West Rockwell Rumble this weekend.
