It is often said that part-time workers are the backbone of a company, business, group or organization. This much was stated to be true when the employee of the month was announced at the Carbon County Commission meeting on Wednesday evening.

Rose Barnes and Frank Ori presented the award for Ron Lengel, who works at the events center for the county. Lengel is a part-time employee who is a hard and dedicated worker that juggles two different jobs. Although Lengel was not able to be present to accept the award, Ori spoke on his behalf.

According to Ori, the county survives on a lot of roster individuals that work on an as-needed basis. Lengel is always willing to work nights, weekends, early mornings and whenever else he is needed. The reason that Lengel was nominated was due to a wedding.

This particular wedding took place in June. The parents of both the bride and the groom spoke highly about Lengel following the wedding, stated that he had done a great job taking care of the family and group. They wanted Lengel to be recognized somehow, and Ori thought that employee of the month was the perfect way to do that.
