On Wednesday evening at the Jennifer Leavitt Student Center, there was a free training for those looking to start a small business or those who already own their own business. The majority of those in the seminar already had established businesses, but this was a training to help them improve or gain helpful tips to move their business forward.

There was a presentation prepared for the small crowd that gathered for the meeting. The PowerPoint included helpful tips about becoming an entrepreneur, starting a business and better ways to help it grow. A main topic that was discussed during the meeting was a business model and how it will change over time as a business evolves. Money was also brought to the table and tips were given along the lines of finding ways to receive money for a business.

Another matter brought into consultation was the idea for a business and how not all ideas are liable for one to prosper in the area desired. One might find a need but then they would need to think about if it is really, truly necessary for that area. Suggestions were then given of how to conduct market research.

For more information, those in attendance were encouraged to visit utahsbdc, org or visit the Small Business Development Center in Price, located on the USU Eastern campus.
