Each year, just before Thanksgiving, the lunchroom at Castle Dale Elementary becomes an elite dining room to host the school’s etiquette dinner. The students, dressed in their Sunday best, are ushered to their seats around a family-style dining table by school principal Melinda Durrant. The tables are decorated with a holiday motif and eating utensils along with salads, rolls and deserts, waiting for the students.

Once seated, waitresses (school PTO officers) serve students a delicious turkey dinner prepared by the seasoned chefs behind the counter. The atmosphere is enhanced by dimmed lights and courtesies. Especially the younger students are awestruck at the transformation of their lunch room.
