Overview

The College of Agriculture and Applied Sciences and the Technology, Design, and Technical Education department are seeking a Business Assistant II or III for the USU Eastern (Price) campus. This position involves providing support for the Business Services Team, performing human resource tasks primarily for part-time and new employees, managing equipment across the Price, Blanding, and Moab campuses, assisting with proposal development, and reviewing and approving purchasing and travel activities. Key responsibilities include data analysis, report generation, purchasing, financial reconciliation, and project monitoring. This position demands an individual who can act with high integrity, operate autonomously, provide excellent customer service, and contribute effectively to the team.

Responsibilities

• Provide office support for the Business Services Team.
• Perform human resource functions primarily for part-time employees, including onboarding, job postings, payroll, and employment action forms.
• Assist the Business Manager with equipment management for the Technology, Design, and Technical Education department across the Price, Blanding, and Moab campuses.
• Serve as a backup for Proposal Development Specialists in CAAS.
• Analyze data and generate reports.
• Prepare and distribute bills and statements.
• Make purchases following University policies and practices.
• Develop and maintain record-keeping systems.
• Develop and maintain spreadsheets and databases to track information.
• Review and reconcile financial records.
• Coordinate and attend various meetings.
• Monitor project status to ensure correctness and completion.
• Prepare travel arrangements and documents following policies and procedures.
• Coordinate documents required for business transactions.
• Review and approve travel transactions and purchase card transactions.
• Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
