Job Opportunity: Heavy Equipment and Trucking (HETR) Program at Utah State University
Join our team in Blanding, Utah! Utah State University's Heavy Equipment and Trucking (HETR) training programs are seeking a skilled individual with a minimum of one year of experience in heavy truck and equipment maintenance. Responsibilities include maintaining and repairing a fleet of heavy trucks, construction equipment, and tractor-trailers, along with assisting student learning.
Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma/GED, At least one year of verifiable experience in heavy truck and equipment maintenance, Class A CDL (or ability to obtain one within three months), Strong communication and computer skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, A clean background check and an excellent safety mindset
Preferred Qualifications: Three years of experience in heavy equipment or truck maintenance, Certification in relevant fields such as diesel technology or hydraulics, Experience in parts inventory tracking and engine, transmission, and hydraulics mechanics

Responsibilities
• Fleet maintenance, troubleshooting and mechanical repairs to the semi-trucks, trailers, heavy equipment and construction equipment.
• Organize and account for tools, inventory, be accountable for the repair shop set up, scheduling, operations, safety, and maintenance.
• Assist student learning with HETR or other associated programs and other duties assigned by director.

This position requires nearly continuous standing, repetitive hand motions, and reaching overhead. Employees may be exposed to unusual elements including extreme temperatures, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.
