Helper and the Railroad Exhibition Coming to Local Gallery

The statewide celebration of the 150th anniversary of the completion of the Transcontinental Railroad will come to Helper on Friday, May 3 from 4 to 9 p.m. An exhibition entitled “Helper and the Railroad” will open at the Anne Jespersen Fine Arts Gallery at 167 South Main Street.

The exhibition is also the annual fundraiser for the Helper Project, a non-profit organization dedicated to revitalizing, beautifying and creating cultural connections in Helper City. Fourteen Utah artists from Helper and other parts of the state will be exhibiting in the show.

A grand celebration is planned with music on Main Street provided by Cold Creek, one of Utah’s finest Bluegrass Bands. The exhibition will run through Aug. 2. The public is welcomed to attend and celebrate the Transcontinental Railroad’s 150th birthday party.
