Explosions from a structure fire in South Huntington last night could be heard from at least a mile away, and brought neighbors outside to see what was happening.

Crews from the Huntington, Cleveland, Elmo, Castle Dale, and Orangeville City Fire Departments where called out last night, June 5, at 10:12 p.m. for the structure fire that had completely engulfed a garage, and threatened a home.

The fire was located at 64 West 200 South, behind Hearts and near Cindy’s Café. The fire started in Cody and Barbie Potter’s garage and completely overcame and damaged their garage and the 2-3 vehicles in front of and inside it.

The fire damaged siding on their house and crews removed that siding to make sure the fire didn’t penetrate further.

The total number of emergency vehicles that responded was 15, and personal was 22. Firemen reported having “no idea” what had started the blaze. We will bring you more information as it becomes available.
