Members of the Boys and Girls Club of Carbon County enjoy activities each day. Recently, club participants invited their families to share in the fun.

During the club’s monthly family night, children, parents and grandparents all competed in a fun and friendly game of baseball. This is one of many activities families have participated in through the community program.

According to Boys and Girls Club of Carbon County Director Josie Luke, activities such as these are made possible through donations made from community members and local businesses. “We are able to provide activities and buy supplies with donated funds,” she explained. “Recently, we received generous donations from the Kiwanis Club and Emery Telcom.”

Club members also enjoyed a camping trip earlier this summer. The group is currently planning a second camping outing, which will take place in the near future.

Although the Boys and Girls Club likes having fun, they realize it is important to give back to the community that has been so generous to them. During Price City International Days, club members provided games for children at the kids day event, ran a concession booth during the burnout and sponsored a dunk the candidate event to earn money for future activities.

The club is open to children ages 12-18 and provides teens with a safe place to hang out after school and during the summer.
