Wednesday morning at approximately 10:40 a.m., a fatal accident occurred near the intersection of 900 East and Main Street in Wellington, taking the life of a Wellington resident, according to information from the Utah Highway Patrol.
A silver Buick Century, driven by an 89-year old male from Wellington, was entering Wellington’s Main Street from 900 East when the driver of an eastbound white Toyota Tundra, unable to stop, struck the Buick. The driver of the Buick was pronounced dead on scene.
The weather at the time was reportedly heavy snowfall with snow on the roadway. Drugs or alcohol do not appear to be a factor in the accident at the current time nor is there an indication of excessive speed as a factor.
Names of those involved have not been released at this time.
