Final Fall Rodeo Gives Points to Many Emery Team Members

At the last rodeo of the fall season, hosted at the Grantsville arena by the Grantsville club, several Emery Rodeo team members scored points.

On Friday, reining cow competitors Drake Weber and Korby Christiansen scored third and fourth, respectively. Kinlie Jensen was fifth and Baylee Jacobsen tied for ninth in breakaway roping. Bret Olsen earned sixth in tie down while Byron and Korby Christiansen came in eighth and Cole Magnuson and Race Gordon secured tenth in team roping. In the shooting sports on Friday, Carbon’s Kagen Rhodes was second in the light rifle. Emery’s Ruger Payne took third in trap shooting.

The Lehi club hosted Saturday’s rodeo, also at the Grantsville arena. Rough stock riders Kayson Jensen and Korby Christiansen both took first in barebacks and saddle broncs. Weber was third in barebacks. Team ropers Olsen and partner Karson Cloward took fourth in team roping, and in tie down Olsen was fifth while Magnuson came in tenth. In the shooting sports, Carbon’s Kagen Rhodes was third in rifle and fourth in trap shooting.

The junior high shooting competition, hosted at the same time as high school, found Kashley Rhodes in third and Ryter Ekker in first on Friday. Then, on Saturday, Kashley Rhodes earned second and Ekker took third. These boys are both members of the Emery junior high rodeo team.

The high school team will take a break for a few weeks until November and the Dixie Six but junior high action will be hosted by the Emery junior high club at the Carbon arena on Oct. 4 and 5.
