Around11:30 p.m. Sunday evening, fire units from Orangeville, Castle Dale and Ferron were paged out to a structure fire in Orangeville. The fire was in fourplex unit located at 450 South 100 East.
One of the apartments was vacant at the time of the fire and witnesses stated that they thought the blaze had possibly began in the vacant unit and spread to the adjacent apartment. Two other apartments in the fourplex suffered heavy smoke damage. Orangeville City Fire Chief Tracy Addley said the cause of the fire has not yet been determined and is still under investigation.
Due to the unknown origin of the fire, Addley summoned the assistance of the Utah State Fire Marshal’s Office to assist with the investigation. The fire marshal collected evidence and will have the Utah State Crime Lab analyze it.
