This year’s fishing tournament at Millsite was not on ice and needed to be postponed a number of times, but was rewarding for nearly 70 participants. Fishing was great and most caught good sized trout.

Winning for the adults was Robert Phelps with a whopper measuring 28 ¾ inches. Brent Ward was second with 21 ¾-inch fish, Justin Kaufman took third with 20 ¾, Jason Branson and Cory Cripps took fourth and fifth with 20 ½. Aryanna Gourdin came in sixth with 20” and Joe Edgehouse grabbed 19 ¾-inch fish. Jordan Leonard reeled in a 19 ½-inch fish to round out the eight top places.

In the youth competition, Brycen Peterson was first with a 19 ¼-inch fish. Cole Christensen took second with a 18” fish, Rigby Clark finished third with 16 ¼, Daxton Vessels took fourth with  16” and Easton Hoffer ended in fifth with 15 ¾. Top finishers were awarded cash prizes. All participants received a hoodie and were entered into a drawing for a heater, tool sets and additional cash prizes.

The annual event was co-sponsored this year by Utah State Parks and Emery County Travel Bureau.
