Recently, the Southeastern Utah Football Officials Association took the time to recognize five football officials for their service. These individuals were Steve Rigby, 30 years, Wendell Christensen, 30 years, John Erramouspe, 40 years, Craig Johnson, 10 years as arbiter/game assigner and Jared Tatton as Rookie of the Year.
This association is based out of Price City and serves a multitude of high schools. These schools are Carbon, Duchesne, Emery, Monticello, Grand and San Juan. The association also serves Helper, Mont Harmon, San Rafael and Canyon View middle schools.
Annually, the officials are tested and certified. They must pass a written open-book test. The meetings are generally weekly on Mondays with games following Wednesday through Friday. Currently, the association is searching for more officials and is willing to train and mentor those that have a desire to participate.
