(Florence) June Adams, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend went to be with the Lord Wednesday, March 21, 2018.

She was born on March 21, 1933 in Taft, Calif., to Orville and Cletice Knight. June graduated from Santa Barbara High School where she clobbered the competition in tennis.

June was married to Bill Lee Adams after he returned from the Korean War on May 3, 1953.

She became Bill’s faithful companion, magician’s assistant, fellow river runner, administrator of church shenanigans and presentations, seamstress for countless church Christmas plays, secretary, melon salesperson, and devoted wife for 61 years.

June was a woman of great faith, thankfulness, and service to others for God. She was the hardworking power behind all of Bill’s unique and crazy church projects that served to introduce many young people to the Lord. Together Bill and June brought fun, laughter, and spiritual life to many.

She moved with Bill to Green River, Utah in 1991, and served in the Green River Bible Church through creative Christmas programs, Easter Egg hunts that spread out over their 60-acre ranch, and any fun that would invite and intrigue people who were searching for meaning in their lives.

June also loved to work at the Vetere melon stand each summer alongside her beloved adopted family, the Veteres. She could be found there each day with husband Bill, or Jay Vetere by her side. She took special joy in making sure each customer got proper and tasty samples of each melon, and inevitably drove away with a trunk load of melons.

Her gracious, hardworking, and gentle ways earned her many friends with the customers, both local and from far and wide, who would come back each year and look forward to seeing her again.

She was always humble about her gifts and talents, not wanting to be the center of attention, but a support to others. She was a blessing and joy to all who knew her.

June is survived by her son Troy, daughter Crystal Boecker and her husband Brian Boecker; grandchildren Bayley and Isabella Boecker; sister Marjorie Kieter, brother-in-law Glen Adams, and many wonderful nieces and nephews and their children.

A memorial celebration of June’s life will be held Saturday, April 28 at 1 p.m. at the Green River Bible Church.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to Southwest Bible Church Extension, PO Box 88, Englewood, CO 80151.
