Plums are a less common fruit in school lunch mostly due to their short seasonal availability here in the U.S.
Plums have been around longer than many other fruits as their remains have been found in Neolithic-age archaeological sites along with olives, grapes and figs.
They are commonly preserved into jams or dried. Either way, fresh or dried, they are full of antioxidants and good for the digestive system. All lunch sites are enjoying this special treat!
