This “summer melon” is second only to watermelon as a favorite for our students! Fresh fruits are known to have differing but overall similar health benefits. What may be lesser known, is this fruit’s ability to reduce the risk of developing asthma.
Beta-carotene and Vitamin C are both found in abundance in cantaloupe and are important in protecting against asthma. The potassium also found in this treat is a plus for heart health and healthy blood pressure.

Cantaloupe is even tastier when it’s grown in Green River and comes to us straight from the field as our Fresh Fruit of the Day!
