В
Limited recreation use in Huntington Canyon will be available this summer. В The Forest Service announced this week that it is opening some campgrounds and some trails on a restricted basis, unless changing conditions require full closures for public safety.
В
The Nuck Woodward road will be gated at top and bottom and closed to use.
The following areas will be open to day use only: В Horse Canyon and Tie Fork trailheads, Stuart Visitor Information Center on Saturdays and Sundays only, fly fishing zone above North Hughes Canyon to Electric Lake, and campsites below Horse Canyon trailhead.
Mill Canyon and Nuck Woodward Trailheads will remain closed to day use.
These trails will open at the beginning of the season: В Wild Cattle Hollow, Gentry Hollow, Bull Pasture, Candland Mountain, western half of Mill Canyon, Horse Canyon, Mill Fork, and the northern two miles of the Left Fork of Huntington National Recreation Trail (NRT).
The following trails will remain closed throughout the season: В Mill Canyon (eastern half), Little Park segment of Castle Valley Ridge, Pole Canyon, and Bob Wright.
The Forest Service has prioritized the following trails for rehabilitation and eventual opening: Left Fork of Huntington NRT, Short Canyon, Castle Valley Ridge, Sawmill Canyon, Second Water, Corner Canyon, Huntington Pipeline, Lone Pine Tree Ridge.
Once the Left Fork of Huntington NRT is logged out and tread repairs made, day-use through the Forks of Huntington CG to access this trail will be allowed. В The campground itself will remain gated and closed to camping. В Walk-in picnicking would be allowed. В Trail parking will be designated just above the CG turnoff along U31.
Access to trails, the Nuck Woodward Road, and overnight/day use of campsites will be re-evaluated after the onset of monsoon season (August) and amendments to the closure order considered.
