Forest Service officials visited the Public Lands Council on Tuesday and reported over a dozen recent accidents.

Officials implied that most of the accidents could have been avoided if people were following land use and road rules. They stressed the importance of adhering to laws and regulations as hunting season approaches.

Notes:

  • South Skyline Drive still has some closed roads, but the roads should be open soon.
  • State Parks and Recreation representatives were excited about the various triathlons throughout the summer because the events provide great exposure for the parks.
  • Boaters have been taking advantage of high waters throughout the area, but park representatives are looking for a way to get people to stay in the parks for longer periods of time.
