Local fireВ authorities turned over management of the Seeley Mountain Fire to the Eastern Arizona Incident Management Team sometime Thursday evening. The team had arrived Thursday afternoon and were in the process of being briefed on the current condition of the fire.

A command post has been set up at Canyon View Junior High School in Huntington to help and assist firefighters in their efforts. It will provide food, water, a place to sleep, and showers to firefighters.

Jonetta Trued, Public Information Officer for the Eastern Arizona Management Team said the command post will be like “a home away from home.”

Trued and members from the incident management team were in briefings all afternoon to get an outlook of the fire and prepare a plan of attack.

“We are trying to find out the best features that we can anchor off of and build fire lines to contain the fire,” she said.

At last report, the size of the fire had expanded to 20,300 acres with zeroВ containment.
