Gage Bigelow, a 2011 Carbon graduate and 3A first teamer, is making noise at Southern Virginia University.
After brief stints at Southern Utah University and the University of Utah, the sophomore has compiled a 2-3 record on the mound with his best outing coming against Penn St.-Harrisburg on March 15, in which he went 4.1 innings and struck out six batters. The lone run he gave up in the game was unearned.
In another win, Bigelow went three innings in relief and struck out four in a game against St. Mary’s College of Maryland.
The left hander struck out two in a perfect seventh inning March 28 against Wesley College. SVU won the game 2-0.
Bigelow has struck out 23 batters in just 17.1 innings pitched on the season. He has two of SVU’s five total wins this season.
SVU concludes its season Saturday at York College of Pennsylvania.
