Come meet former Jazzman Thurl Bailey in Price on July 27 and 29 as he conducts free basketball clinics for local children in conjunction with the Junior Jazz program.

Bailey played for the Jazz for nine seasons and currently works as a member of the Jazz broadcast team. Bailey played college basketball at North Carolina State and was a member of the 1983 NCAA Championship team coached by Jim Valvano.

The Jazz selected Bailey with the seventh overall pick in the 1983 NBA Draft and he went on to average 14 points and 5.5 rebounds per game during his career in Utah. In addition to his broadcast duties with the Jazz, Bailey is also a public speaker, singer and songwriter and is involved in many other community programs.

The 2016 Junior Jazz road trip marks the 32nd consecutive year the Jazz have conducted the hour-long basketball clinics for youth in participating Junior Jazz towns across Utah, Wyoming, Nevada and Idaho. The free events will feature Bailey running the clinics, as well as signing autographs and taking pictures with the participants.

The clinics will take place in Orangeville and Green River on July 27 and 29, respectively. The Orangeville event is set to begin at 4 p.m. and the Green River clinic is slated for 10 a.m. Exact locations of the clinics will be posted at a later date.
