An arrest was made on 23-year-old local Tucker Anderson for eight counts of sexual battery, which classify as Class A misdemeanors, on Sept. 28. Anderson was an assistant cheer coach at Utah State University Eastern and had been accused by several members of the team of inappropriate behavior.

According to reports, cheer members alerted campus police to the incident on Sept. 20, stating that the coach had grabbed them and rubbed against them inappropriately, as well as slapped their behinds. Anderson admitted to slapping the girls’ behinds on Sept. 21.

Upon further investigation into the incident, Anderson was arrested and later released from the Carbon County Jail on the same day of arrest on his own recognizance. Anderson was also released from his position as assistant cheer coach on Sept. 14.
