Cole Fossat went 4-4 and Dillon Wilstead pitched seven masterful innings for the Helper American Legion baseball team as they took the season series against Price Monday night, 10-1. Helper also beat Price 11-3 on June 9.

Fossat was a double short of the cycle, homering in the second and also chipping in a triple and two singles. Bryce Blackburn tripled and doubled in the game.

Wilstead gave up just one run on four hits on the night, for the win.

Helper jumped on Price starting pitcher Anthony MacLean in the first, scoring five runs on hits from Ridge Nielson, Fossat, Marco Mota and Wilstead. Helper added two more in the second on Fossat’s home run and a RBI single by Jarod Lessar. One more run in the fourth and two in the sixth rounded out the scoring for Helper. Price scored its lone run in the game on a Kellen Trujillo single, which scored Isaiah Martinez.

With the win, Helper now sits at 5-3 in the Salt Lake Valley League standings. Manager Jeff Cisneros said Wednesday’s doubleheader against Murray would not take place as scheduled because of a Murray forfeit. Helper’s record now sits at 7-3.

Corner Canyon will make the trip to Helper Monday for a doubleheader beginning at 5 p.m.
