Foster Care Foundation Welcomes Community to Foster Care Walk/Run

The Utah Foster Care Foundation welcomes the community to “walk a mile for a child” by hosting its annual Foster Care Walk/Run this Saturday in Price. The event serves as a fundraiser for the foundation, as well as a way for the organization to keep the community aware of the needs of foster children in the area.

The Foundation is hosting the event for the third time this year, and encourages participation, whether by running, walking, or “whatever”. The walk/run will begin May 14 at 9 a.m. starting at the Price Peace Gardens and continue to the park where they will have bouncers, games, crafts, and face painting for children.

There are over 100 foster children in Carbon and Emery Counties, and the Foundation is continually looking for good foster homes.

Pre-registration is encouraged in order to plan for or food provided by KFC/A&W and Coldstone Creamery, but organizers stress that “everyone is welcome,” even if they don’t preregister. Registration is $5 for individuals and $20 for families.
