Students from Castle Valley Center and other community members were welcomed to Gigliotti Pond on Tuesday for free special needs fishing day with the Division of Wildlife Resources.
Principal Michael Keller planned this day for the kids and Secretary Linda Haycock just wanted the day to be enjoyable.
“It is a fun day for our kids and provides free fishing for them,” she said. “We do it every year and our kids love it.”
The Forest Service and DNR were on hand and provided fishing equipment and bait. They also set up a cleaning station and cleaned fish for the kids.
Smokey the Bear was also in attendance.
