In early May, the Carbon County community was disheartened by the news that East Carbon local Travis Quinn was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer of the colon and GI tract.

Quinn, who is a husband and the father to four boys, ages seven and four as well as 14-month-old twins, had one fundraiser hosted in his honor previously at Bruin Point Elementary. A second fundraiser for Quinn and his family was hosted at the UMWA offices in Price on Friday evening.

This benefit fundraiser welcomed many members of the community and had an admission price of $20 per person. This price included a hearty dinner for all. However, dinner was not all that was available for those that attended the fundraiser.

A plethora of prizes were on display for those that wished to compete in a large game of bunco. Many that attended the event also supported Quinn in the form of personalized t-shirts.

All funds raised during the event will be directly benefit Quinn and his family as Quinn battles the cancer and often travels around 250 miles round trip to do so.
