A fundraiser was hosted in Huntington for local Colton Torres, who was recently diagnosed with cancer. Family and friends participated in a horseshoe tournament, a silent auction, a yard sale and team roping, with food available for purchase.
Tammy Oviatt, who organized the event, expressed her thanks for the amount of support shown by the community. The drinks and meat for the food as well as many items in the sales were donated by local businesses. Many people attended the fundraiser to help support Colton and his family.
Torre, 23, is the son of Tony and Ronni Torre of Huntington. In November, Torre was diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer. Since then, he has battled numerous rounds of chemotherapy, radiation and multiple surgeries. Now, Torre faces open heart surgery that aims to remove a growth on his heart.
