May 15 was a special day for the students and staff of Bruin Point Elementary School as they celebrated their annual Pet Day. For the small donation fee of $1, students were able to enter their beloved family pet to put on display for friends, staff, family and more to enjoy.
Animals of all kinds were in attendance such as dogs, cats, rabbits, hermit crabs and lizards. There were also farm animals such as goats and ducks. The money raised during this event is donated to the Carbon County Animal Shelter for them to use in any way that they see fit to better enable them to care for the animals brought to them.
Along with a check for $80 that will be given to the shelter, the school will also be able to donate other items such as blankets and pet toys that were donated by the student body.
