Members of the community flocked to Gagon Family Medicine and Urgent Care on Tuesday evening for a much different reason than usual. It wasn’t for colds or routine checkups that people packed the lobby. Instead, those in attendance were there for a farewell open house.

Jeannee Hunt, PA-C, who has been a member of Gagon Family Medicine for nearly 20 years, has grown to be a staple in the name of healthcare for the Castle Country area. Now, Hunt is leaving the family medicine team to explore new endeavors and enjoy a semi-retirement. In the near future, Hunt plans to join with Four Corners Community Behavioral Health and lend her expertise to that field.

The open house that was hosted in Hunt’s honor saw many in the medical field, patients, friends and more visiting Hunt to wish her the best. Many presents were dropped off for Hunt, as well as flowers, showcasing how many in Carbon and Emery counties appreciate her.

Hunt is a Castle Country native and raised both her children in Price. She currently lives in Price with her husband Jeff.

Hunt is a graduate of the College of Eastern Utah as well as the Weber State RN program. After receiving her RN degree, she served patients at Castleview Hospital in various department for 12 years. She then decided to further her education and enter the University of Utah’s physician assistant program, after which she served in private clinics before finding her home at Gagon Family Medicine.
