The Golden Eagles gave fans a good show on Thursday night as they escaped with a narrow win over rival Snow College, 72-71.
The Eagles got off to a slow start as the Badgers shot out to a 12-4 lead after seven minutes of play. Timely free throws and three-point shots left USU Eastern trailing by only five at the half.
A dunk by Hamdi Karoui pulled the Eagles ahead with three minutes left in the game. Two free throws by Andre Hogan put the team up by three. The Badgers would connect on just two more free throws on the night, leaving USU Eastern with a narrow one-point victory.
Hogan led the team off the bench with 19 points and six boards. Juwan Moody finished the night with 14. Moody and Hogan both connected on three shots from behind the arc.
USU Eastern will next take on Salt Lake Community College at a home matchup on Saturday. Tipoff is scheduled for 5 p.m.
