A strong performance by the USU Eastern men’s basketball team Saturday ended in victory, 83-65, against Colorado Northwestern Community College. The Golden Eagles capitalized on turnovers and dominated the floor, leading to the conference win.
Josh Van Weezep led the team in scoring with 16 points. Andre Hogan chalked-up 14 points and Hamdi Karoui came off the bench and finished with 11.
With the win over Colorado Northwestern, the Eagles snapped a 10-game losing streak. USU Eastern sits a 1-9 in conference play and 10-13 overall.
The Eagles will celebrate Fan Appreciation Night on Thursday evening. Tipoff will be at 7:30 p.m. against Snow College.
