The Green River Pirates fell short against Grand on Wednesday as the team took a 86-49 loss.
The squad’s first quarter struggle put the Pirates in a hole they could not dig themselves out of as the Red Devils took the first 27-9. The Pirates’ best shooting came in the second quarter as they chipped in 15, trailing 47-24 at the break.
The Red Devils kept their foot on the gas as they sailed past the hosting Pirates to take the game, 86-49.
Trey Vetere led the Pirates with a game-high 17 points followed by Dawson Anderson with 16. Both players added a lone trey to the stat sheet.
Green River will look to rebound as the Pirates travel to Price on Friday, Jan. 5 to take on Pinnacle. Tip-off is slated for 5:30 p.m.
