During the Green River City Council meeting on Tuesday evening, Mayor Ren Hatt provided an update on their search for a new Green River City Manager. He said they have been interviewing people, and feels they are close to hiring a new one.

The mayor plans to hold office hours where people can come in and chat with him and he will let everyone know once he has those hours ironed out.

Kent Nelson led a presentation on Four Corners Community Behavioral Health (FCCBH) on the Parents Empowered Community Partnership. He described the SHARP survey, which provides data about the community and the drug and alcohol use in Green River’s youth.

He described grants and trainings that this program chases that could benefit the families of the community. There will be a meeting about it on July 17 at 6 p.m. at Green River City Hall.

The council approved hiring Tyler Hunt as a consultant for the city to help train and transition for the next City Manager. David Wilson then led a discussion on the O.K. Anderson park safety, including doing something to help with slippery concrete conditions under the pavilion.

John Wesley Powell River History Museum (JWPRHM) Director Janet Smoak invited everyone down to see the new exhibit at the museum; locals get in for free!

The Green River City Council will meet again for their regularly scheduled meeting August 13.
