On Wednesday, Green River played against Rich in the first round of the 1A State Basketball Tournament and took a loss, bumping the team into the consolation bracket.
Both teams played with determination as the scores were close throughout the game. In the first quarter, Rich held a one-point lead, 9-8, over the Pirates. By halftime, Rich was able extend the lead by a narrow margin, taking a 29-25 advantage into the break.
Although Green River played hard and stayed close behind, Rich took the game with a final score of 59-51.
With the loss, the Pirates move to the consolation bracket where they will play Piute. The game will take place on Thursday at 8:30 p.m.
