The Pirates’ baseball team salvaged its week with a dominating performance over Tabiona.

After losing two games earlier in the week, Green River beat out the Tigers 12-2 for its second region win of the year. Green River’s offense exploded with eight runs in the first inning to control the game.

Rad Hughes went 3-3 with a double, three RBIs and two runs in the contest to lead the offensive attack. Axel Anguiano pitched well on the mound, going all five innings and only allowing two runs on five hits.

Green River (4-8, 2-4 Region 19) will play undefeated Wayne (13-0, 7-0 Region 19) on Wednesday before it hosts rival, Pinnacle (3-10, 0-7 Region 19) on Friday.
