Green River High School celebrated its annual homecoming week from Jan. 28 to Feb. 2. Their theme, MARVEL-ous Homecoming, fed to the superhero hype welcomed in many years ago by creator Stan Lee.

With fun events each day such as a Pirate day, paying homage to the school’s mascot, Meme day, Superhero and Villain days and more, the students were given many opportunities to don fun costumes and other gear.

The school also hosted many games throughout the week, such as junior high basketball, homecoming games as well as alumni volleyball and basketball matchups. The week was capped off with a homecoming dance on Saturday evening.

Ceci Trejo and Kole Hunt were crowned as the 2019 Green River Homecoming King and Queen. Brooquelyn Knight and Kevin Aguilera were deemed the countess and count while the jester and jesterella went to Laura Martinez and Favian Mendez.

The crowning did not stop there, however. Preston Marshall was named duke while Araceli Gaspar was named as duchess. Selene Mendez and Jordan Anderson rounded out the crowning with titles of lord and lady.
