Green River Senior Center to Host AARP Driver Safety Class

On Wednesday, Sept. 11, Green River Senior Center will provide a Safe Driver Class by AARP from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

According to AARP, the four-hour class will present valuable information to the senior drivers. Topics to be covered include a series of videos and class discussion on vision, hearing and medications that may affect driving, reaction time and agility; changes in roads and highways is included in the discussion; as well as information on the changes that have taken place with the cars we drive and the safety features that have been added.

There have been several new laws that have been passed related to driving to be included in the class. Utah is one of the states in the U.S. that give a discount to drivers completing the class, which will be effective for three years. Incidentally, if both spouses take the class, both will receive the discount. There are no written or driving tests.
