The Green River Pirates came up a bit short Saturday night in the 1A Championship game against the Rich Rebels, losing 60-45, ending their season.
The Pirates had a magical run, but the magic didn’t last as Rich finally secured its first-ever 1A Championship. Rich had made the semifinals for seven straight years before capturing the title this year.
Green River fell behind early and never was able to get back within striking distance.
The Pirates finish the season as winners of 20 games compared to just six losses.
