April 12th’s Green Team meeting focused on clarifying the group’s purpose and eliminating misconceptions within the local community.
The biggest concern the group addressed was the erroneous suggestion that The Green Team was trying to eliminate coal mining in the area.
Group members stressed they were simply working to raise awareness about recycling and reducing waste materials. They also stressed The Green Team claims no connection to any environmentalist groups.
The group also lauded the success of the recent benefit concert. The event drew nearly 600 patrons, and the tip jar raised $363 that will be used for more recycling bins.
