Habitat for Humanity of Castle Country hosted its seventh annual bowling tournament. This event took place on Sunday at Country Lanes on Carbonville Road.
Many local businesses donated prizes to this event. There were prizes for the tournament itself and prizes for a raffle. Prizes that were donated ranged from food certificates to bowling balls. Some of the raffle prizes included Disneyland tickets, a Google Home, and a .22 caliber rifle. Little Caesars also donated pizza for all the participants to enjoy.
Over $4,500 was raised at the event. This is the organization’s main fundraiser of the year. All proceeds will be placed in an account and will be used to build a home in Price for a low income family. Once there are enough funds, building will begin. However, members of the organization don’t anticipate this to begin for several more years.
“Habitat for Humanity of Castle Country would like to thank our community for all their support and a big thank you to all of our sponsors,” executive director Janessa Marinos stated. Marinos would also like to thank Habitat for Humanity’s staff and board members.
