Emery hosted the North Sanpete Hawks for the second week of the preseason on Friday night. The Hawks recieved the opeing kickoff and was marching the ball down the field until Emery intercepted a pass on the one yard-line.
Unfortunately for the Spartans, North Sanpete’s defensive line immediate forced a safety to take a 2-0 lead. The Hawks defensive line was stout all night, applying pressure, getting sacks and knocking down passes. Offensively, the Hawks showed their ability to connect on short, intermediate and deep throws. North Sanpete had its way in the air and took at 16-0 lead into halftime.
Emery was never able to claw its way back and fell 43-6. The Spartans (0-2) will be on the road next week to play ALA (2-0).
