Two young women were recently awarded scholarships from the Carbon County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday afternoon.
Destiny Basso and Ali Heath each were the recipients of a $500 scholarship funded by the Utah Sheriff’s Association. The dollar amount can be used at the student’s discretion for needs that may arise in their education.
The scholarships, generally awarded to students planning on majoring in law enforcement or criminal justice, are funded by the association and are usually in a $500 or $1,000 amount, according to Carbon County Sheriff Jeff Wood.
Interested persons are encouraged to contact their local sheriff about the scholarship if they would like to apply for a scholarship in the future.
