An unfortunate accident over the weekend has prompted the community to rally once again, this time for Clay Finkbiner, a long-time Carbon County resident, who was injured in a side-by-side accident on Saturday.

According to reports, Finkbiner was riding in a side-by-side when it rolled and ejected him, leaving him with serious injuries, including a broken back.

Finkbiner is a 2012 graduate of Carbon High and has been employed at the Carbon Country Club since he was 16. With no health insurance, the golf community was spurred to host a benefit tournament for Finkbiner, which is slated for July 15. For just $160 per four-person team, plus greens fees and carts, teams can support Finkbiner in his long road to recovery. To sign up or for more information, call please call TK’s Pro Shop at (435) 637-2388.

For those looking for other ways to donate without taking to the course, a GoFundMe account deemed Help Clay Heal has been established to assist Finkbiner with associated medical costs. People can also assist the family by joining R&A Market for a barbecue on Friday, June 23 from 12 to 2 p.m. More information on this fundraiser and the golf tournament can be found below.

Finkbiner is currently hospitalized and is receiving intensive care. Clay’s family would like to thank everyone that has extended comfort and help during this trying time.
