Band students from Helper Junior High traveled to Northridge High School over the weekend to perform at “Music in the Park.” Students performed with Professor Palumbo from Weber State University while Dr. McInnis from Brigham Young University adjudicated their performances.
At the event, Helper received several awards for their performance. The seventh grade band took first in Division 1A for the middle school concert band. They also received the overall top score for all middle school and junior high divisions.
The Helper Jazz Band took first in Division 1A for junior high jazz band. The band also grabbed the overall top score for all middle and junior high schools.
Also earning honors at the event was the eighth/ninth grade band. The group came in second place in Division 1A for junior high band.
