Helper City Mayor Lenise Peterman announced Friday morning a fire restriction order on her Facebook page.
The restriction states the following:
Due to current and forecasted weather conditions the State Forrester in conjunction with the County Commission have determined measures must be taken to prevent the ignition of forest and range land fires. This includes all UNINCORPORATED PRIVATE AND STATE LANDS in Carbon County. No building or igniting of fires, smoking except in an enclosed vehicle, trailer or building, discharging of fireworks, ammunition; cutting, welding or grinding metal and operating a motorcycle, chainsaw, ATV without an approved and working spark arrestor. Any of these acts can lead to arrest.
The mayor is asking individuals to adhere to the order for not only Carbon Counties safety, but for the county’s neighbors as well.
