Helper City Police Chief Trent Anderson had the pleasure of introducing the city’s council members to the newest addition to the police force. Officer Garrett Safely was recently hired on to the force.
Safely is still currently attending the academy as well as performing work duties. Safely was born and raised in Carbon County and grew up mostly in Wellington. He informed the council that after he was wed, he and his wife traveled around Utah for a while and ended up back in the community.
“We can’t seem to get away, it keeps calling us back,” Safely said.
Newly hired Helper City attorney Jeremy Humes stated that he teaches at the academy and has taught Safely. He stated that he believes he will be a great addition to the force. Mayor Ed Chavez then welcomed him aboard.
